The NTDB research dataset is split into 19 CSV (comma separated value)
files.You can download the entire research dataset in either CSV or DBF format.
Also included with the dataset is: the NTDB User Manual, the Terms and
Conditions document, and sample programs.
Since the NTDB is a relational database, the files have to be linked together
for analysis. Sixteen of the files can be linked by the incident key or facility
key for incident- and patient-level analysis, respectively. The remaining three
files (AISDESC, DIAGDESC, and PROCDESC) are lookup tables and can be linked to
their matching tables (AISCODE, DIAGNOS, and PROCEDUR) by using the respective
code number. Please refer to the User Manual for information about each file.
